Your day starts at the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone located in the Pudong District, south of the Huangpu River with a walking tour amid the skyscrapers before catching a lift to the top of the 492 meters high World Financial Center to enjoy breathless views of Shanghai City.

At noon we taste a selection of local Shanghai snacks while wandering into the little Chinese craft markets in Shanghai Old Street. After we will transfer to Suzhou.

In the afternoon, we will visit Lion Grove Garden. With seven distinct Chinese garden styles, it is a truly great example of the variation that exists in classical garden architecture. The total garden covers an area of about 10,000 square meters (two and a half acres!) and is known to be frequented by Qianlong Emperor on multiple occasions during his reign. After our garden walk, we have time to explore the nearby Guanqian Street ,an old ‘walking’ street with a history of more than 1300 years. On the street you can discover ten ancient temples, countless restaurants and neon-lit shops, including famous century-old shops such as Huangtianyuan, Sanwanchang, Caizhizhai who give a historical legacy to this street, not your typical high street, it is an illustrative example of Suzhou traditional culture.

Monday - Suzhou 220 KM Nanjing

We start early with a trip to Tiger Hill, also dubbed the “Oriental Tower of Pisa” this hill resembles a crouching tiger. Beautiful nature scenes with historical calligraphy cannot be missed. Do look out for the Sword-testing Rock: a rock divided in two pieces that was supposedly split by a legendary sword of extraordinary sharpness. After this hike, we will head to Shantang Street to enjoy a spot of leisure time. Shantang Street is a picturesque example of Venice in China with narrow canals, elegant bridges, cobbled street stones and imperial architecture. Savour the delicious fried dumplings from the many street stalls. After lunch, we will transfer to Nanjing, one of four great ancient capitals of China.
Nightfall is the most beautiful moment to see the Confucius Temple and Qinghuai River which flows in front of it. A great landmark for visitors paying their respect to the great Confucius, most respected Chinese philosopher. There are two must-see objects found in the inner hall. One is the largest statue of Confucius; the other, a beautiful collection of 38 vivid panels inlayed with jade, gold and silver which show the life of Confucius.
Optional Activity

Take a cruise ship along the Qinghuai River during the night, enjoying the scenes of pavilions and towers on the riverbanks.

Today we visit Hangzhou, a city described by Marco Polo as the finest and most luxurious city in the world. Hangzhou is the capital of China’s Zhejiang province. The beautiful West Lake panoramas have an inspiration to Chinese classical poets and painters since as early as the 9th century.

We enjoy some free time on Qinghefang Street, one of the most flourishing street in the city since the Southern Song Dynasty . Go inside one of the old Chinese pharmacies or enjoy a cup of tea in the fancy parlours down the street. The unique four-corner buildings have been carefully restored and protected by the government of Shangcheng District.

The highlight of today’s tour is Xixi National Wetland Park. Very different to West Lake, this park offers a variety of ecosystems and features an urban water village with a silkworm feeding and production industry; take a peek inside the vibrant wildlife, XiXi Wetland has to offer with more than 1,800 years of natural co-existence.

We continue on water to experience "Three Pools Mirroring the Moon", a view so famously beautiful it has been printed on the 1 RMB note. The three pools refer to the three pear-shaped pagodas arranged in a triangle in the water as built by the poet Su Shi. Our visit ends with a leisurely stroll through the gardens. Optional Activity
